Never Worry How Many People Dislike You

A man hated his wife's cat and he decided to get rid of it. He drove 20 blocks away from home and dropped the cat there. The cat was already walking up the driveway when he approached his home.
The next day, he decided to drop the cat 40 blocks away but the same thing happened.. He kept increasing the number of blocks but the cat kept coming home before him.
At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right and so on until he reached what he thought was a perfect spot and dropped the cat there.
An hour later.... The man calls his wife at home and asked her, "Jen is the cat there?" "Yes, why do you ask?" answered the wife.
Frustrated the man said," Put that damn cat on the phone, I am lost and I need directions to reach home!!!
Moral:
"How much ever we dislike somebody, someday we will need their assistance. So never worry how many people dislike you... "

Mother

This is a truly BEAUTIFUL piece.
Please read this at a slow pace,
Digesting every word and in leisure...
Do not hurry....this is a treasure...

For those lucky to still be blessed with your Mom,
this is beautiful. For those of who aren't, this is
even more beautiful. For those who are moms, you'll love this.

The young mother set her foot on the path of life.
"Is this the long way?" she asked.
And the guide said: "Yes and the way are hard.
And you will be old before you reach the end of it...

But the end will be better than the beginning."

But the young mother was happy, and she would not
believe that anything could be better than these years. So she
played with her children, and gathered flowers for
them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and
the sun shone on them and the young Mother cried,
"Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."

Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was
dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother
drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said,
"Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."

And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and
the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary.
But at all times she said to the children," A little patience and we are there."
So the children climbed, and when they reached the top
they said, "Mother, we would not have done it without you."

And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up
at the stars and said, "This is a better day than the last, for my
children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness. Yesterday I gave them courage.
Today, I've given them strength."

And the next day came strange clouds which darkened
the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped
and stumbled, and the mother said: "Look up. Lift your eyes to the light.
“And the children looked and saw above the clouds
an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the
darkness. And that night the Mother said,
"This is the best day of all, for
I have shown my children God."

And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and
the years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent.
But her children were tall and strong, and walked with
courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her,
for she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill,
and beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide. And
mother said, "I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end
is better than the beginning, for my children can
walk alone, and their children after them."

And the children said, "You will always walk with us,
Mother, even when you have gone through the gates."
And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates
closed after her. And they said: "We cannot see her
but she is with us still. A Mother like ours is more than a memory. She
is a living presence......."

Your Mother is always with you.... She's the whisper
of the leaves as you walk down the street; she's the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks; she's the cool hand
on your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives
inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from, your first home; and
she's the map you follow with every step you take... She's your first love
and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can
separate you.

Not time, not space... not even death!

Lonely is the night (Air Supply)

Really thought that I could live without you
Really thought that I could make it on my own
Sent you away yeah I said I didn't need you
I let you go I let you go I let you go
Now I'm so lost without you
Now you're not here and now I know

CHORUS
Lonely is the night when I'm not with you
Lonely is the night ain't no light shining through
Till you're in my arms till you're here by my side
Lonely am I

Never thought that I that I would need you
Never thought that I that I'd be missing you
Gotta get you back
I just got to find a way now
To let you know to let you know to let you know
That I'm so lost without you
And now this world it just ain't right

CHORUS

I can make it through the day
I can fake it okay
I just smile and pretend
And I tell myself I'll be alright

But lonely is the night
Lonely is the night

How to Smell Good Without Perfume?

When we want to smell good, most of us reach for a bottle of expensive perfume. Unfortunately, perfume can be expensive and it can smell a bit unnatural and overwhelming particularly if applied to heavily. Not to mention the chemicals found in a bottle of commercial perfume or cologne. Need an alternative? Here's how to smell good without perfume.

Instructions
Step 1

Use a light dusting of baby powder.

Baby powder adds a subtle hint of scent without being overpowering. It smells so light and fresh that you can wear it almost anywhere. It's particularly nice to apply baby powder before you head for the exercise club. The powder tends to absorb some of the perspiration you'll produce during exercise.

Step 2

Use essential oils.

To smell good without perfume, carry a vial of essential oil with you when you go out. Whenever you need a scent pick-me-up, dab a tiny amount of your favorite fragrance behind your ear. It's fresh and all natural.

Step 3

Avoid smoking.

The smell of smoke can permeate your clothes and give you a stale smell that not even a good perfume can cover up.

Step 4

Use a heavily scented shampoo.

To smell good without perfume, find a shampoo with a scent you like that lasts for more than a few hours after you wash your hair. There's something ultra sexy about hair that smells freshly washed. Why drown it out with perfume?

Step 5

Use a scented body lotion.

A scented body lotion gives a more subtle scent than a heavy spray of perfume. Perfume can be overwhelming particularly in warm weather. A scented body lotion gives just the right hint of fragrance.

Step 6

Bathe and use deodorant every day.

To smell good without perfume, you need to keep your body clean and free of perspiration odors. Make it a habit to bathe on a daily basis and after your daily workout.

Good Wife's Guide

Instructions

Step1
Keep nagging to a minimum. This rarely works and doesn't help the relationship. If you need him to do something, ask nicely and with respect.

Step2
Welcome him home with a smile and a hug instead of a sour face. Listen to him talk about his day, especially if it was a difficult one.

Step3
Plan little surprises for him. They do not have to be elaborate and can be as simple as getting him his favorite snack to let him know you are thinking of him. Or, plan a surprise date night with him.

Step4
Give him his space. Encourage him to go out and hang out with his friends for a break or engage in a hobby or sport that he likes.

Step5
Cook him his favorite dishes once in a while even if you would rather eat something else.

Step6
Express your love and appreciation often. Find time to be intimate even though you may be tired; it's an expression of your love for him.

Step7
Join him in activities that he's interested in. Watching Sunday football may not be something you would choose to do, but it's doesn't hurt to show an interest from time to time.

GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR

One thing can always cheer me
When I'm feeling sad and low
When I tired of daily trials
That I have to undergo,
When those who should
Seem closest, seem like
People I don't know,
One thing can always cheer me
I know that God is near me.

One thing can always cheer me
When I do not understand
How pain and sadness
In our lives
Can get so out of hand,
When the best of human efforts
Doesn't meet the days demands,
One thing can always cheer me
I know that God is always near me.

One thing can always cheer me
More than anything I've known
And show me I will never
Have to struggle on my own
For no matter what might happen
I will never be alone
The thing that will always cheer me
Is just knowing God is near me.

Our lives are in God's loving
Hands, in everything we do
He is with us constantly,
He always sees us through.
And if our faith is strong enough
We'll never walk alone,
For with His great and perfect love
He takes care of His own.

22 Reasons To GO VEGETARIAN

Vegetarian food is easy to digest
Consider making this healthy choice as one of your new year's resolutions. ..
Stacks of studies confirm that a diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables and grains is your best bet for living a longer, healthier and more enjoyable life. There are literally hundreds of great reasons to switch to a plant-based diet; here are 22 of the best:

1        You'll live a lot longer.
Vegetarians live about seven years longer, and vegans (who eat no animal products) about 15 years longer than meat eaters, according to a study from Loma Linda University. These findings are backed up by the China Health Project (the largest population study on diet and health to date), which found that Chinese people who eat the least amount of fat and animal products have the lowest risks of cancer, heart attack and other chronic degenerative diseases.

2        You'll save your heart. Cardiovascular disease is still the
number one killer in the United States, and the standard American diet (SAD) that's laden with saturated fat and cholesterol from meat and dairy is largely to blame. Plus, produce contains no saturated fat or cholesterol. Incidentally, cholesterol levels for vegetarians are 14 percent lower than meat eaters.

3        You can put more money in your mutual fund.
Replacing meat, chicken and fish with vegetables and fruits is estimated to cut food bills.

4        You'll reduce your risk of cancer.
Studies done at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg suggest that this is because vegetarians' immune systems are more effective in killing off tumour cells than meat eaters'. Studies have also found a plantbased diet helps protect against prostate, colon and skin cancers.

5        You'll add color to your plate.
Meat, chicken and fish tend to come in boring shades of brown and beige, but fruits and vegetables come in all colours of the rainbow. Diseasefighting phytochemicals are responsible for giving produce their rich, varied hues. So cooking by colour is a good way to ensure you re eating a variety of naturally occurring substances that boost immunity and prevent a range of illnesses.

6        You'll fit into your old jeans.
On average, vegetarians are slimmer than meat eaters, and when we diet, we keep the weight off up to seven years longer. That's because diets that are higher in vegetable proteins are much lower in fat and calories than the SAD. Vegetarians are also less likely to fall victim to weight-related disorders like heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

7        You'll give your body a spring cleaning.
Giving up meat helps purge the body of toxins (pesticides, environmental pollutants, preservatives) that overload our systems and cause illness. When people begin formal detoxification programs, their first step is to replace meats and dairy products with fruits and vegetables and juices.

8        You'll make a strong political statement.
It's a wonderful thing to be able to finish a delicious meal, knowing that no beings have suffered to make it..

9        Your meals will taste delicious.
Vegetables are endlessly interesting to cook and a joy to eat. It's an ever-changing parade of flavours and colors and textures and tastes.

10    You'll help reduce waste and air pollution.
Livestock farms creates phenomenal amounts of waste. The tons of manure, a substance that's rated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a top pollutants. And that's not even counting the methane gas released by goats, pigs and poultry (which contributes to the greenhouse effect); the ammonia gases from urine; poison gases that emanate from manure lagoons; toxic chemicals from pesticides; and exhaust from farm equipment used to raise feed for animals.

11       Your bones will last longer.
The average bone loss for a vegetarian woman at age 65 is 18 percent; for non-vegetarian women, it's double that. Researchers attribute this to the consumption of excess protein. Excess protein interferes with the absorption and retention of calcium and actually prompts the body to excrete calcium, laying the ground for the brittle bone disease osteoporosis. Animal proteins, including milk, make the blood acidic, and to balance that condition, the body pulls calcium from bones. So rather than rely on milk for calcium, vegetarians turn to dark green leafy vegetables, such as broccoli and legumes, which, calorie for calorie, are superior sources.

12      You'll help reduce famine.
It takes 15 pounds of feed to get one pound of meat. But if the grain were given directly to people, there'd be enough food to feed the entire planet. In addition, using land for animal agriculture is inefficient in terms of maximizing food production. According to the journal Soil and Water, one acre of land could produce 50,000 pounds of tomatoes, 40,000 pounds of potatoes, 30,000 pounds of carrots or just 250 pounds of beef.

13      You'll avoid toxic chemicals.
The EPA estimates that nearly 95 per cent of pesticide residue in our diet comes from meat, fish and dairy products. Fish, in particular, contain carcinogens (PCBs, DDT) and heavy metals (mercury, arsenic; lead, cadmium) that cannot be removed through cooking or freezing. Meat and dairy products are also laced with steroids and hormones.

14      You'll protect yourself from foodborne illnesses.
According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest in the US, which has stringent food standards, 25 per cent of all chicken sold in the United States carries salmonella bacteria and, the CDC estimates, 70 percent to 90 percent of chickens contain the bacteria campy-lobacter (some strains of which are antibiotic-resistan t), approximately 5 percent of cows carry the lethal strain of E. coli O157:H7 (which causes virulent diseases and death), and 30 percent of pigs slaughtered each year for food are infected with toxoplasmosis (caused by parasites).

15      You may get rid of your back problems.
Back pain appears to begin, not in the back, but in the arteries. The degeneration of discs, for instance, which leads to nerves being pinched, starts with the arteries leading to the back. Eating a plant-based diet keeps these arteries clear of cholesterol- causing  blockages to help maintain a healthy back.

16      You'll be more 'regular.'
Eating a lot of vegetables necessarily means consuming fiber, which pushes waste out of the body. Meat contains no fibre. Studies done at Harvard and Brigham Women's Hospital found that people who ate a high-fiber diet had a 42 percent lower risk of diverticulitis. People who eat lower on the food chain also tend to have fewer incidences of constipation, hemorrhoids and spastic colon.

17       You'll cool those hot flashes.
Plants, grains and legumes contain phytoestrogens that are believed to balance fluctuating hormones, so vegetarian women tend to go through menopause with fewer complaints of sleep problems, hot flashes, fatigue, mood swings, weight gain, depression and a diminished sex drive.

18      You'll help to bring down the national debt.
We spend large amounts annually to treat the heart disease, cancer, obesity, and food poisoning that are byproducts of a diet heavy on animal products.

19      You'll preserve our fish population.
Because of our voracious appetite for fish, 39 per cent of the oceans' fish species are overharvested, and the Food & Agriculture Organization reports that 11 of 15 of the world's major fishing grounds have become depleted.

20      You'll help protect the purity of water.
It takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce one pound of mutton, but just 25 gallons of water to produce a pound of wheat. Not only is this wasteful, but it contributes to rampant water pollution.

21      You'll provide a great role model for your kids.
If you set a good example and feed your children good food, chances are they'll live a longer and healthier life. You're also providing a market for vegetarian products and making it more likely that they'll be available for the children.

22      Going vegetarian is easy!
Vegetarian cooking has never been so simple. We live in a country that has been vegetarian by default. Our traditional dishes are loaded with the goodness of vegetarian food. Switching over it very simple indeed.

Somethings Not To Do

Don't attempt to run from the past, it is always behind you.

Don't be afraid of opposition; Remember a kite rises against, not with the wind.

Don't be afraid of tomorrow, for God has already been there.

Don't be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

Don't be angry at a friend who told your secret, for neither could you keep it to yourself

Don't be concerned others not appreciating you. Be concerned about your not appreciating others (Confucius).

Don't be irreplaceable -- if you can't be replaced, you won't be promoted.

Don't be so Heavenly minded that you do no earthly good.

Don't control, be in control.

Don't count the days, make the days count. (Mohammed Ali)

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Don't ever slam a door- you may want to go back.

Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things.

The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have.
(Louis E. Boone)

Don't get good at doing something if you don't like doing it.

Don't get married only because of the money. You can borrow it cheaper.

Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.

Don't just get something out of church, put something into it.

Don't kill the dream - execute it!

Don't learn the tricks of the trade, learn the trade.

Don't let anybody walk through your mind with dirty feet. (Gandhi)

Don't let people drive you crazy when it is within walking distance.

Don't let time take control of your destiny.Let your destiny take control of your time.
(Ulrick Ricardo Milord)

Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.
(John Wooden)

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future.

Don't limit your challenges - challenge your limits.

Don't listen to what I say; listen to what I mean.

Don't love the things! you own, lest they own you.

Don't measure your life by how many breaths you take, measure it by how many times you get
your breath taken away.

Don't pray for easy lives; pray to be stronger people.

How many calories should we eat if we want to lose weight?

Technically, there is no magic number of calories we should all eat each day to lose weight. While most people can lose weight eating around 1,500 calories, you can assess your own personal caloric needs with a little math.

Why Estimate Your Caloric Needs?
To estimate how many calories you should consume in order to maintain your weight, you'll need to do a little math. By using a simple formula called the Harris-Benedict principle, you can assess your basal metabolic rate -- also known as your BMR.
(Then, to lose weight, you'll need to cut calories or burn extra calories and shoot for a level lower than the results you get with this formula.)
Calculate Your BMR
Your BMR is the amount of energy your body needs to function. We use about 60% of the calories we consume each day for basic bodily functions such as breathing.
Other factors that influence your BMR are height, weight, age and sex.
Step one is to calculate your BMR with the following formula:
Women:
655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)
Men:
66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + (12.9 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)
Please note that this formula applies only to adults.
Calculate Activity
Step two: In order to incorporate activity into your daily caloric needs, do the following calculation:
·                    If you are sedentary : BMR x 20 percent
·                    If you are lightly active: BMR x 30 percent
·                    If you are moderately active (You exercise most days a week.): BMR x 40 percent
·                    If you are very active (You exercise intensely on a daily basis or for prolonged periods.): BMR x 50 percent
·                    If you are extra active (You do hard labor or are in athletic training.): BMR x 60 percent
Add this number to your BMR.
The result of this formula will be the number of calories you can eat every day and maintain your current weight. In order to lose weight, you'll need to take in fewer calories than this result.
As you lose weight, you can re-calculate the formula to assess your new BMR.

ALL STRESSED UP AND NO PLACE TO BLOW

All stressed up and no place to blow. Does that sometimes sound like
You?
It is rarely the big crises of life that cause us destructive worry.
Rather, those persistent small concerns do the most long-term damage
To our spirits, minds and bodies.

According to Bernard Asbell and Karen Wynn in the book

WHAT THEY KNOW ABOUT YOU

(Random House, 1991) here are the top ten reasons
Middle-aged people worry:

1. Concern about weight

2. Health of a family member

3. Rising prices

4. House maintenance

5. Too much to do

6. Misplacing or losing things

7. Outside or yard maintenance

8. Property, investments, and taxes

9. Crime

10. Physical appearance

How many times do you find yourself on this list? Yet, none of these
Is a huge problem. It's true. You don't get ulcers from what you eat --
You get them from what's eating you!
I asked a woman who was facing some truly large problems, "Can you
Just get through today?" I felt there was no other course of action
For her than to concentrate on managing only the concerns of the
Present. Anything more seemed overwhelming.

She said, "I always take just one day at a time. And sometimes I take
One hour at a time. And sometimes it's one minute!"

If worry and anxiety are getting the best of you, first take steps to
Manage the problem, fix the problem or get rid of the problem. Then,
You need only look ahead to the end of the day. Can you get through
This day? This hour? If so, that may be enough.

It was the Buddha who said, "The secret of health for both mind and
Body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or
Not to anticipate troubles, but to live the present moment wisely and
Earnestly." And Jesus said, "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
Will worry about itself."

It's about learning to live one day at a time. And it's great
Advice... Particularly when you are all stressed up and no place to
Blow.

Different

How are we so "different"?
If "different" is just a thing.
If we all have certain features,
What does "different" bring?

People filled with hatred,
Can't possibly see,
That there's not really "differences"
Between you and me.

Looks can't show "difference",
If they're just there to be seen.
If you don't look like someone else,
Why are they so mean?

If being "different" is what is wrong,
I'd rather not be right.
And I'd want to finish living,
Doing the "different" fight.

Imagine A Woman

Imagine a woman who is interested in her own life.
A woman who embraces her life as teacher,
healer, and challenge.
Who is grateful for the ordinary moments
of beauty and grace.

Imagine a woman who participates
in her own life.
A woman who meets each challenge
with creativity.
Who takes action on her own behalf
with clarity and strength.

Imagine a woman who has crafted
a fully-formed solitude.
A woman who is available to herself.
Who chooses friends and lovers with the
capacity to respect her solitude.

Imagine a woman who acknowledges
the full range of human emotion.
A woman who expresses her feelings
clearly and directly.
Who allows them to pass through her
as naturally as the breath.
Imagine a woman who tells the truth.
A woman who trusts her experience
of the world and expresses it.
Who refusesto defer to the thoughts,
perceptions, and responses of others.

Imagine a woman who follows her
creative impulses.
A woman who produces original creations.
Who refuses to color inside someone else’s
lines.

Imagine a woman who has relinquished
the desire for intellectual safety and approval.
A woman who makes a powerful statement
with every action she takes.
Who asserts to herself the right to reorder
the world.

Imagine a woman who has grown in
knowledge and love of herself.
A woman who has vowed faithfulness
to her own life.
Who remains loyal to herself... Regardless.

Imagine yourself as this woman.
