A Woman Knows...

A woman dreams ... with her heart, dreams of passion,

beauty and peace on earth.

A woman cries ... tears when she's wounded...replaced with
smiles when she knows she will heal soon.

A woman loves ... with her soul, deep and true ... with all that
she knows.....

A woman tries ... through every wrong, ... forgives past sins
and finds the strength to move on.

A woman gives ... everything inside her ... she does not hold
back because of the fears that remind her ... she could be hurt,
be taken in, ... a woman protects herself with the love that lies
within.....

Only a woman knows the secret truths that hide beneath the
surface of her warmth and kindness.

Only a woman knows the tender touch that can heal all
wrongs and relieve all fears.

Only a woman can give her all and have love left to give when
the giving is done.

Only a woman ... with a woman's heart ... can understand and
accept ... the many pains she will encounter.

Only a woman ... with a woman's heart ... can possibly know
the strength of her heart.....

A woman knows ... if all she owns was taken ... there are
parts of her, the best of her ... that nothing on earth can ever
take away ... the woman's heart, the woman's depths.

Only a woman knows ... it's the love within that makes her who
she is, and love without pain could be a love that is dead.

WHAT REALLY MAKES YOU HAPPY

Take Time To Think about
What truly makes you Happy
It's all right to be fearful
Of the unknown;
Its smart to walk slowly
Into the darkness.

It's all right to think twice
About making changes;
It's wise to look ahead in all directions
Before starting out on a new road.

It's all right to reconsider
And revaluate some of your feelings;
It's good to let your emotions settle down.

Before you rearrange
Your life and your dreams.

Difficult times require
Difficult decision to be made,
And the easy answers
That once solved your problems
Are no longer the right answers.

Take some time to really think about
What you want to do
With your life and future.

Be honest with yourself.

Ask yourself if you are happy
The way you are living now
Or if you need to make a change.

Happiness comes to those
Who are willing to believe in it
And who create within their own lives.

You deserve to be happy.

You deserve to be treated with respect.
Your life should be filled with good times,
Not troubled ones.

Take some time and think about yourself.

Be Willing

Be willing to learn, and a teacher will appear.
Be willing to work, and numerous opportunities
For making a valuable, positive difference
Will come your way.

Your willingness is a key that unlocks life's abundance.
Your willingness helps opens your eyes to,
And prepares you for whatever you are willing to be or to do.
Your willingness is not merely what you say it is.
True willingness resides in the deepest part of who you are.
Be willing, and you will gain access to
Whatever you need to get the job done.

Be willing, and you will find a way.
Many things seem out of reach only
Because you imagine them to be.
Have the courage to be sincerely willing,
And the impossible can become real.

Be willing to make a difference in each moment,
And your world will overflow with possibilities.
Be willing to experience a life of richness and fulfillment,
And that is precisely how it will unfold.

DO U HATE SOMEONE???

A Nice story with a good moral. Please go through.

A kindergarten teacher has decided to let her class play a game.
The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes.
Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates,
so the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates.

So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for 1 week.

Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended....

The teacher asked: "How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?” The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go.

Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game. The teacher said: "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime???"

Moral of the story:
Throw away any hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry sins for a lifetime.
Forgiving others is the best attitude to take!

True love is not loving a perfect person
but loving an imperfect person perfectly!!

The Table

I remember when growing up at my aunt and uncle's
farm eating there on Sunday. The table would be pulled
out and the leaves would be inserted for the family that
would be there. Oftentimes the minister from the Church
would eat with us. The men when they entered the home
would take their hats off and hang them up by the door.
All would wash their hands and sit at their designated place.
My uncle would sit at the head of the table, his wife at the
opposite end. The best dishes were used every Sunday along
with the best silverware. During the hot, dusty summer,
the dishes might be turned upside down to protect them
from the dust and flies, as this was before air-conditioning.
Sometimes if the meals were served and my aunt was not
ready to eat, the plates would be covered with a clean
dishcloth.

Everyone sat upright, no elbows on the table, when my
aunt entered the room everyone stood up, it was expected.
She was being honored. My uncle would either say Grace
or ask someone to say Grace. After the prayer was
concluded he would take the first dish of food and put some
on his plate and pass it to his right, and on it would go.
Usually the elders would sit to his right with the children
being the last served. This was normal and there were no
questions asked.

At the table people discussed family events, church
events, school happenings, matters of consequence. Never
was there a heated discussion, and always proper manners
were in place. When finished eating, you asked for
permission to be excused from the table and you cleaned
your mouth with a real napkin. You politely removed
yourself, and put your chair back into place. The women
would clear the table and do dishes while the men would
retire and discuss matters for men folk. The children would
go outside and play. The table would be put back in its
place until it was used again.

When did the table lose its place in our family? Or is
the better question when did our family lose its table?

When did manners fade away? When did respect of
our Elders dissolve? Do you pray before receiving your
food? Do you bless your food? Do have your family time?
Does what I describe to you sound like a better way of life,
of living?

Take the time. Start at home. Home...what a beautiful word.
Think about this.... The Lord gave us Hope with His
Last Supper at the Table. Commune with your family.
Start today.

Emotions Are A Part Of Life

Life is like an unsolved puzzle.
No one can define what life is because it is a very complex thing.

Life is something that makes you happy and proud at times and

Makes you feel so low at times that you say to yourself,
"Why was I born?"
But whatever it is, it is real fun.

In Life, in every moment, something new happens; something that

You never expected, something that you were waiting from a long while

To happen and something you were expecting to happen.

It is a combination of happiness, sorrow, joy, love, anger,

Enjoyment, loneliness, fear, excitement and many other emotions.

The definition of the word life can't be completed

Without using the word emotions.

Some people work in emotions whereas others work with emotions.

So it's very important to understand how people are using their emotions.

If they are letting emotions get control over them, then they'll be dragged

By others and situations all the time. But, if he is controlling his emotions

In a proper way, then no one will ever have control over him.

The way a person uses his emotions is what we call attitude.

Someone has correctly said, "Your attitude determines your altitude in life".

Attitude, as I already defined, is the way an individual uses his emotions

And directly related to the psyche of a person.

Some people use their emotions in a positive way

And some people do it in a negative sense.

When people use emotions in a positive way we call it positive attitude

And when they use it in a negative way we call it negative attitude.

It's up to an individual to decide how he uses his emotions.

Which way will you decide?

Control Your Attention And You Control Your Mind

A disciple and his teacher were walking through the forest. The disciple was disturbed by the fact that his mind was in constant unrest.
He asked his teacher: "Why most people's minds are restless, and only a few possess a calm mind? What can one do to still the mind?"
The teacher looked at the disciple, smiled and said:
"I will tell you a story. An elephant was standing and picking leaves from a tree. A small fly came, flying and buzzing near his ear. The elephant waved it away with his long ears. Then the fly came again, and the elephant waved it away once more".
This was repeated several times. Then the elephant asked the fly:
"Why are you so restless and noisy? Why can't you stay for a while in one place?"
The fly answered: "I am attracted to whatever I see, hear or smell. My five senses pull me constantly in all directions and I cannot resist them. What is your secret? How can you stay so calm and still?"
The elephant stopped eating and said:
"My five senses do not rule my attention. Whatever I do, I get immersed in it. Now that I am eating, I am completely immersed in eating. In this way I can enjoy my food and chew it better. I rule and control my attention, and not the other way around."
Upon hearing these words, the disciple's eyes opened wide and a smile appeared on his face. He looked at his teacher and said:
"I understand! If my five senses are in control of my mind and attention, then my mind is in constant unrest. If I am in charge of my five senses and attention, then my mind becomes calm".
"Yes, that's right", answered the teacher, "The mind is restless and goes wherever the attention is. Control your attention, and you control your mind".

An Old Story

An old man lived alone in a village. He wanted to
spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work.
His only son, who would have helped him, was in
prison.

The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned
his situation:

Dear Son,

I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't
be able to plant my potato garden this year. I hate to
miss doing the garden, because your mother always
loved planting time. I'm just getting too old to be
digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my
troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot
for me, if you weren't in prison.

Love,
Dad

Shortly, the old man received this telegram: "For
Heaven's sake, Dad, don't dig up the garden!! That's
where I buried the GUNS!!"

At 4 a.m. the next morning, a dozen FBI agents and
local police officers showed up and dug up the entire
garden without finding any guns.

Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son
telling him what happened, and asked him what to do
next.

His son's reply was: "Go ahead and plant your
potatoes, Dad... It's the best I could do for you from
here."

Moral:

NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD, IF YOU HAVE
DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART YOU CAN
DO IT. IT IS THE THOUGHT THAT MATTERS NOT WHERE YOU
ARE OR WHERE THE PERSON IS.

Crazy not equal to stupid

One truck driver was doing his usual delivery to IMH (Institute of mental health).

He discovered a flat tire when he was about to go home. He jacked up the truck and took the flat tire down.

When he was about to fix the spare tire, he accidentally dropped all the bolts into the drain... As he can't fish the bolts out, he started to panic.

One patient happened to walk past and asked the driver what happened.
The driver thought to himself, since there's nothing much he can do; he told the patient the whole incident.

The patient laughed at him said "can't even fix such a simple problem.... no wonder you are destined to be a truck driver..."

Here's what you can do, take one bolt each from the other 3 tires and fix it onto this tire. Then drive to the nearest workshop and replace the missing ones, easy as that" The driver was very impressed and asked "You're so smart but why are you here at the IMH?"

Patient replied: "Hello, I stay here because I'm crazy....... not STUPID!"

Why do golf balls have dimples?

A dimpled balls travel up to four times farther than smooth-surfaced golf ball.

The early golf ball, known as a featherie, was simply a leather pouch filled with goose feathers. In order to obtain a hard ball, the pouch was filled wet with wet goose feathers. The typical drive with this type of ball was about 150 to 175 yards. In 1845 a new ball was used made of gum. The gum was heated and molded into a perfect sphere. This was a failure and did not work as well as the featherie, until someone noticed that the old gum balls flew farther. The balls had become scored and marked, by trial and error they ended up with the dimple golf ball. The science of aerodynamics helps explain the dimpled phenomenon. When a ball travels rapidly through air, the air is pushed apart by the ball. The air joins back together behind the ball, but the joining is full of eddies and turbulence. The turbulent wake reduces the pressure behind the ball, pulling it back and slowing it down. The dimples on a golf ball trap a thin layer of turbulent air all around the ball, even wrapping it around the trailing half. Because the turbulent layer is very thin, the air joins together more smoothly behind the ball, creating a smaller wake. The ball feels less backward drag, and it flies farther.

Secret of success

A young man asked Socrates the secret of Success. Socrates told the young

Man to meet him near the river the next morning. They met.

Socrates asked the young man to walk with him towards the river.

When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise
and ducked him into the water. The man struggled to get out but Socrates was
strong and kept him there until he started turning blue.

The young man struggled hard and finally managed to get out and the first
thing he did was to gasp and take deep breath. Socrates asked 'What you
wanted the most when you were there?' The man replied 'Air'.

Socrates said 'that's the secret to success. When you want success as
badly as you wanted air, you will get it. There is no other secret'

10 principles for Peace of Mind...

1. Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked.
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God... God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.

2. Forgive And Forget:

This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive, 20Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.

3. Do Not Crave For Recognition:

This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless; they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yours lf in striving for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and sincerely.

4. Do Not Be Jealous:

We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody's life is shaped by his /her destiny, which has now become his/her, reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind.

5. Change Yourself According To The Environment:

If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.

6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured:

This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control... If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully. Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power.

7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew:

This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. . Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.

8. Meditate Regularly:

Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.

9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant:

An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile. Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.

10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret:

Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt milk?

Grandpa:

ANSWER :

72 Years...

Solution:

Grandpa:

"This problem is conveniently solved by writing down the necessary equations. Note that there are 12 months in a year, 52 weeks in a year, and 365 days in a year.

Let m be my age in years. If s is my son's age in years, then my son is 52s weeks old. If g is my grandson's age in years, then my grandson is 365g days old. Thus,

365g = 52s.

Since my grandson is 12g months old,

12g = m.

Since my grandson, my son and I together are 120 years,

g + s + m = 120.

The above system of 3 equations in 3 unknowns (g, s and m) can be solved as follows.

m / 12 + 365 m / (52 × 12) + m = 120 or

52 m + 365 m + 624 m = 624 × 120 or

m = 624 × 120 / 1041 = 72.

So, I am 72 years old."
